Hands off Somalia supporters FRFI in Newcastle held a protest outside North Shields Immigration Reporting Centre with Raul Ally, a Somali man who obtained his recent release on bail from immigration prison whilst working alongside the campaign which demands justice for immigrants and asylum seekers and opposes deportation and immigrant detention.
In this video, filmed by an independent journalist, FRFI activists and Raul himself explain more about his case and why British immigration policy is racist and is part and parcel of its imperialist attack on Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
A local ITV news crew attended the entire protest and then went and did some filming at Raul’s football club, yet nothing seems to have been shown either on the evening news or their website.
Clearly an editorial decision has been made somewhere to not report on the campaign, which makes it all the more important to get this independent media out there, please share
